Community Involvement
Since the year 2000, I have been increasingly involved in the Native American Indian community. Having served as treasurer and board member of the American Indian Association of Millington, I have had many opportunities to express my heritage. As a participant in the planning and production of Native American Pow Wows in West Tennessee I have gained both knowledge and experience of Native American ways by meeting and interfacing with those involved. Our culture and history is preserved in the programs that I/we do in the West Tennessee schools, historical societies, civic clubs, and church groups, which include historical narratives, dance and regalia demonstrations, and story telling. I have followed and supported the Tennessee Native American Commission for many years and have come to know some of the commissioners as well.

Statement of Suitability as Commissioner
Having known about my Native American heritage in my earlier years, it has been only recently that the true impact of that heritage has come to bear in my life. It is with true gratitude that I seek to serve and to help those who have been such a great help to me. I do not seek after strife or self interest, but truth, harmony, honor, identity, peace and unity with all my Native American family. Few resources are available to me, but time and ability are my assets to use. Being out of the workforce due to disability, my time and reasonable talent is available to dedicate toward the benefit of the Native American community in Tennessee and beyond. My years of experience in managing and directing the fairly complex issues in healthcare financial management can surely be useful in moving the Tennessee Native American Commission in the direction it needs to go in order to serve and best benefit the Native American communities of Tennessee.
